Use of sound effects

For our trailer we needed to add sound effects to cause shots to be scarier because the original sound was too quiet, for example, for the stairs scene we had to add a door slamming sound effect because the original sound that we recorded was too quiet and we though that this scene should cause the audience to jump, therefore a louder sound was required.


The main protagonist for a trailer is summoned by whispering her name, because of this we thought that it would be appropriate to have a whispering sound effect at the end of the trailer when the dates for the film is being revealed.


We wanted a a sudden change in music for our title shots, so that we could recapture the audience's attention, for this we used a sound effect that we were quite fond of from the trailer for the 2017 film 'a cure for wellness'
